Dr. Cordero-Soto was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. After completing his undergraduate degree in applied mathematics, he moved to Phoenix where he obtained a Master's degree in mathematics and a Ph.D. in applied mathematics at Arizona State University.

Dr. Cordero-Soto worked for twelve years as a tenured mathematics professor at California Baptist University, where he eventually served as chair of the department from 2021 to 2023. Ricardo and his wife relocated to Sacramento in 2023. Dr. Cordero-Soto is passionate about faith integration in Christian Higher Education and has contributed published papers in this area. Ricardo cares deeply about mentoring students and helping them develop their aptitude and a healthy sense of identity. As an adjunct professor at Jessup, Dr. Cordero-Soto continues to teach and mentor students academically and spiritually.
